The Assignment: Make Christmas happen in my dining room. I knew this was a perfect match for me since food and dining is my favorite way to bring people together. I see it as a fun challenge to work with your space to make it an inviting and appealing atmosphere for guests. Based on the decorations I received from The Home Depot and the color of our more classic style table, I chose golds, creams, silver, minimal red, and lots of greenery to tie it all together. Table centerpiece – I started my theme with the table center and worked outwards. The table runner is actually a curtain! I wanted to make the table conversational, so I left the centerpiece a low height and used pine branches, pinecones, and feather branches mixed with a few glass ornaments to spread down the center.
The final touch were these tapered candlesticks. DIY place settings –  I pulled off the tops of one silk poinsettia plant and tucked them into the napkin ring holders to be used as the place centers. Using a gold paint pen I wrote out guest’s names on large green leaves for a personal touch! Wreaths – The wall was ready for some festivity! Wreaths were embellished with an assorted box of ornaments and ribbon. I also strung a few red ornaments from the Kieran Wall Mirror as a way to work in so more color. Our ceiling lamp is pretty unattractive, so that was magically transformed by binding a wreath around to hang over the table. The room wouldn’t be complete without some Christmas ambiance. These mini potted trees really did the trick since there was some lighting woven into their snow-capped branches. We wanted to go ahead and have Christmas dinner even though we are weeks away. Had so much fun creating this set up and can’t wait to put it to use!
