For her wedding reception, Soumya and Vinod agreed to a black and gold theme with their entire wedding party following suit. The entire wedding party took it to the outdoors for an animated shoot with VEK Photo for a stunning set of images caught next to a set of railroad tracks. After the bridal party created some candid memories they were ready to head back to the Hilton Anatole for a rocking reception decorated for a big fat Indian wedding by Prashe Decor with DJ Indo of Desi Junctions DJ’s on the turntable.
Details of the grand final is coming right up, but until then, head into the gallery for a sneak peek of the fun to come Maharani Soumya spills some advice for brides below, check it out! Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind? There are a few of these: running to the Flipbook booth multiple times with my bridesmaids for videos, the part where our cousins picked us up on the dance floor to Imran Khan's "Amplifier", the times we ended up in our parents' dance circles, and of course our First Dance. simple christmas decorations insideDancing to At Last, by Etta James was something I'd looked forward to since I've started listening to Blues. best paint to use on exterior doorWhen Rohan (KI Weddings) jokingly told me he arranged for Beyonce's version instead, I freaked out without realizing he was only making fun of my compulsive need for perfection. christmas tree decorations images
It's nice to have someone remind you it's all about the day, and your happiness-not always about the details! I also distinctly remember seeing our cake for the first time, as we cut it. All three tiers were designs that came from 3 different cakes. It was so much prettier than I thought it would be! Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be? In terms of wisdom for future brides: there's a few pointers I'd like to share! decorated christmas tree themesWedding planning can go two ways-miserable or absolutely fun! exterior paints for home imagesI will admit, that having to plan a destination wedding and reception was a bit overwhelming at first. christmas decorating ideas vintage
I've heard and read my fair share of advice and wedding horror stories. There's no such thing as too much advice, or asking too many questions! I highly recommend researching your vendors and reading reviews about them before you and your fiancee commit. Read all the fine lines and remember that you are paying them for quality service for your big day! If you have specific visions, take notes/pictures/pinterest and voice them accordingly in a timely manner. If you have the time to organize a wedding binder, make one! I'm still using mine an entire year later, for addresses and such. I also want to remind brides that it's super easy to attend events and "borrow" aspects of others' weddings, receptions and websites. It may not be pointed out so much but I'll say it on behalf of the brides that remain mum on this subject! The wedding, its themes and designs are personal to the couple especially if they've put work into planning it. I wouldn't recommend cutting and pasting from someone else's website, maybe ask for advice or better yet, permission!
Lastly, having a professional event management team makes all the difference! We remember shopping around for event coordinators. I still remember our first conversation with Jignasa of KI Weddings. KI will take care of things from A to Z and everything in between! They were great with pretty much every aspect of the reception they managed. We drove all the way to Dallas from Houston the night before the event, and I realized I forgot the petticoat to my gown. I leave it to Rohan to have a Plan A, B and C to get a new one before the reception! Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.) Our reception was so much fun, I'd do anything to go back to that day! I did not have mehndi done (I did in India, for the wedding) and I'm not a fan of streaky orange stained hands to be honest. I do not regret not having it! Our cake was made by Sinsational Cakes (Cupcake Wars winner) and we went to them with 3 elaborate designs from 3 different cakes.
