The nonprofit home improvement store gets items from community donations but also a large amount from its deconstructions that folks hire Habitat to manage. That’s where the flooring, cabinetry, and building materials come in – and sold at a fraction of the retail price to the public. This keeps these items out of landfills, which is definitely a win-win. Proceeds from the donations and demo items help Houston Habitat build more homes for the city’s low-income families. The Guild Shop of St. John the Devine is a Houston staple since 1962. This charity resale shop offers quality items including furniture, art, household items, dishware, jewelry, clothing, rugs and more. The website offers a detailed update each month of which items it is accepting for donations plus pictures of current merchandise.
