That's what you'll find at the legendary Boston Design Center (often called the "BDC") located on the South Boston Waterfront near "Cruise Port" (the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal). If you're shopping for the latest in luxury green furnishings, redecorating your home to match something you saw on New England Dream House or in Architectural Digest, or even just thinking about luxury home decor by top designers, you probably already know that it's hard to find really high-end furnishings in retail stores. That's where the Boston Design Center comes in.
With over 1,200 luxury product lines of furniture, antiques, fine art, fabrics, lighting, wall and floor coverings, tiles, and kitchen and bath products, BDC offers the most extensive selection of home furnishings in New England and is the only New England design center.christmas trees decorated with roses As you can see from the photos, it's absolutely massive.best exterior paint for walls There's only one catch . . .discount living room coupon Boston Design Center, next to Black Falcon Cruise Terminalwhen to paint exterior door

But if you're not already working with a designer, decorator, or architect, don't worry - you can still buy here, just not directly.  BDC has a couple of terrific programs designed to let you do this.
Designer on Call matches you up with a designer.  A free hour-long consultation is included so that you can decide if your visions are compatible.  If you're looking for a designer, this can be a good way to find one. But what if you prefer to make your own decorating decisions?  Plush may be exactly what you need. For a relatively modest annual fee, Plush gives you the ultimate "insider status" at BDC. Plush is a sweet deal.  You get 4 hours free consultation with a designer, complete freedom to shop, and special pricing included in the annual $275 fee, along with a few other perks. If you're visiting Boston from another area, want to explore the best in luxury furnishings and home decor while you're here, and already have a designer back home, see if your designer can make a designer-to-designer reciprocal arrangement with someone at BDC. If not, Plush may be ideal for you, especially if you're spending a few days in Boston so that you can take advantage of the complimentary consulting.
BDC is an incredible resource for top-quality luxury furnishings - but is also one of Boston's best-kept shopping secrets.  Now that you know about it, you can shop here too! For one, crowds typically don’t line up at our favorite local shops, leading to a much more pleasant shopping experience. Even better, though, is that we often find the best, most original and personal gifts at small businesses. The ones that truly wow their recipient. If you’re looking for a few shops to support on Small Business Saturday (or you’re looking for a few one-of-a-kind gift ideas), check out these Boston home decor stores that are guaranteed to have something for someone on your list. This South End hidden gem (it’s literally hidden in a courtyard off of Waltham Street — watch for the sign on the sidewalk) is owned by artists and designers Don Carney and John Ross. A few gifts guaranteed to please: The shop’s line of highly scented original candles, servewear painted with one of Ross’s signature illustrations, or a piece from the shop’s collaboration with jewelry designer Miriam Haskell. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 Head to Room 68 for your Brooklyn-dwelling nephew, your super-stylish neighbor, or the artist in your life.
Among a few of the unusually beautiful things you might find at the contemporary shop: slipcast porcelain espresso cups, a walnut “plant pod,” an accordion-inspired carved wooden vase, an avant garde photo album by a local designer, and more. The shop is the perfect place to go when you’re completely stumped on what to buy for someone on your list. Not only does Olives & Grace carry a unique selection of decor and art from local and small-batch producers (think things like tea towels, pottery, artisan soaps, and candles, along with a gourmet food selection), they also offer a custom curated gift boxes that can be designed specifically for your recipient. 8 Union Park Street It’s hard to find a store that has a better handle on the New England aesthetic than Michelle Willey. Pop into the shop for an ever-changing collection of antique Chinese porcelain, simple white Sancerre dinnerware, and wall art inspired by Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Boston. You’ll also find plenty of striped apparel, jackets by Barbour, cashmere scarves, and more for men, women, and kids.
