Closed Mondays and major holidays.16 and under: $1; The James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home, nestled in the heart of the historic Lockerbie neighborhood, is a true preservation of the Victorian home in which the great Hoosier Poet resided for the last twenty-three years of his life. The Museum Home opened to the public in 1922, and has been offering a glimpse into the history of James Whitcomb Riley and his Victorian world for the last ninety-two years. The Home features the same furnishings and ornate décor Mr. Riley enjoyed during his lifetime. Visitors touring the Museum Home will see beautiful ceilings painted by Italian artisans, the desk where Mr. Riley penned some of his most well known poems such as "Little Orphant Annie" and "The Raggedy Man," and a myriad of other treasures. Did you know the Molly Brown House is part of Denver Story Trek? The Molly Brown House Museum is open all 12 months of the year! Admission to the Molly Brown House Museum is by guided tour only. Our wonderful Docents will lead you through the Museum telling you the story  of Denver's Titanic heroine and activist, Margaret Brown. All guided tours of the Museum last approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are sold in person on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations can be made for groups of 10 or more people. Please note that some tour times each day may be sold out or unavailable. Holiday Information and Special Closures The Museum honors the following holidays and will be closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. So that Mrs. Brown's home can be cared for and maintained, the Molly Brown House Museum will be CLOSED for special cleaning and collections care January 23 -27, 2017. Because the Victorians never did anything with restraint, the Molly Brown House Museum is decorated for the holidays just as they did over 100 years ago.
Halloween as we know it with the décor, trick-or-treating, and costumes became popular during Mrs. Brown’s time and are the roots to our modern day Halloween festivities. The Molly Brown House Museum is also ornately decorated for the Christmas holidays in similar fashion. If you’d like to see the home in its everyday state, we encourage you to please come back any month besides October and December and you’ll see the home unadorned with holiday decor. 2017 SCFD Voter Days Free museum admission for the residents of: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties January 20, March 28, June 3, August 1 (Colorado Day), September 22, and November 10 (Veteran’s Day). On SCFD Voter Days the admission price for residents to tour the museum are waived. We ask instead that residents of these seven counties who visit make a donation according to one’s own ability. SCFD Voter Days are made possible by the citizens of these seven counties who support the SCFD through reauthorization of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.

For the best quality experience possible of the Museum, please consider visiting on a regular admission day instead. The Museum participates in the Blue Star Museums Program, giving active military and up to 5 family members free admission to the museum from Memorial Day through Labor Day. National Trust members receive $2 off their admission price and 10% off merchandise in the Museum Store.
