Mismatched nightstands give the space a laid-back feel, and wall-mounted swing arm lamps flank the bold artwork. The water was the main inspiration behind this guest bedroom. Designer Sarah Richardson implemented ocean blue with a soft green color for a soothing effect. The curvy headboard mimics the water, enhancing the coastal design of the room. A sailboat model and whitewashed walls instantly add a coastal feel to this bedroom. Layla Palmer of The Lettered Cottage kept things cool and breezy by implementing soft blues and grays. For a mix-and-match look, she hung mismatched frames in black and brown, giving the impression the room was decorated over time. This sailboat bed is flanked by matching sailor boy lamps for a truly nautical-style space. To draw the eyes up, designer Jennifer Duneier added a boat-clad fabric headboard.

Designer Kim Armstrong's intention when designing the space was to bring the beach indoors with soothing color tones, sea-inspired prints and wood accents. To represent this teenage girl's love of surfing, designer Darci Goodman implemented bold colors and hung a surfboard above the pullout sofa. Simple additions can completely transform a room's design style. Cottage style and coastal design are similar — they both feature timeworn accessories, weathered furniture and soft color palettes. The whitewashed pine plank wall in HGTV fan homemom's guest bedroom has a beach-house look. Raffia headboards, sea grass carpet and antique accessories contribute to the coastal style of this guest bedroom. Designer Regan Baker kept the room neutral for a relaxed feel. This coastal-style bedroom designed by Bruce Palmer has a contemporary vibe, with a sunburst mirror and chic bedding.

Cool blues, patterned hardwood flooring and tropical flowers keep true to the coastal design. Designer Kim Armstrong mixed a deep blue with stark white for a dramatic look. Designer Regan Baker chose board-and-batten walls, sea grass carpet and seashell accents to get the complete feel of the beach. Coral prints and color are the main attraction in this bedroom.
