cheap and easy ways to decorate your house for halloween

With Halloween just around the corner, homeowners across the country are scrambling to for another entertaining—and frightening—October 31. For all of the procrastinators out there, we have come up with eight ways to transform your home this Halloween. All of the following décor items are cheap, fast, and easy to create. If you’re in a rush, you will have to use what you have at your immediate disposal. In this case, most homeowners have a wine bottle or two lying around—and if not, this Halloween decor item is a good excuse to finish one tonight. Save these bottles and turn them into “poison bottles.” To start off, clean the bottle thoroughly. Then, coat the bottles with spray primer before adding three coats of matte black spray paint. Grab a white marker or chalk if you use chalkboard paint and write something clever. If you’re decorating your home for Halloween, then you’ll most likely make your way to the store and pick up a pumpkin or two. While you’re there, grab a few extra mini pumpkins and make these cute mini bat pumpkins from scratch.
To make this fun DIY decoration, all you need is some black chalkboard paint, scissors, chalk, and craft foam that you can get at any craft store. Paint the pumpkins black, and then draw a spooky face or design on the pumpkin. Cut out bat “wings” from the foam, and fasten them into small slits in the pumpkin. This is one design where the kids will probably want to get involved, too. After all, aren’t arts and crafts more fun than TV? Step away from the paint, but keep the pumpkins. If you’re looking for a sophisticated design with an even quicker prep time, then these ribbon-embellished pumpkins are for you. All you need is a pumpkin, glue, and fancy ribbons that reflect your style. Make sure you cut the ribbon to the appropriate length first. Then, apply the glue directly to the ribbon and apply gently to the pumpkin. Give it a firm press and then let is dry. Finally, put it up on the mantel for all to see. Anyone can go and buy a Halloween banner, so why not stand out by creating your own vintage Halloween banner to hang above a fireplace?
The above project can be done with a permanent market, a yard of canvas fabric, sharp scissors, hemp twine, hot glue, and Microsoft Word—if you really want to get fancy. First, cut the fabric to the desired length and width for each letter. Then, head to the computer and choose a fun, Halloween font—we’re partial to Gothic. Try to replicate the style as much as possible or hang both, with the printed Word Doc behind the fabric and trace it. exterior white paint recommendationsColor it in with paint or a permanent marker.decorating ideas for child's room To hang using hemp, grab your hot glue. diy room decor heartPut a healthy amount of glue on the twine and hold the fabric over it. michaels home decor fabric

For a holiday centered around candy, it took us a surprisingly long time to get to a decoration that actually involved some. Luckily for you, this Halloween décor idea is one of the easiest you will find. All you need is a pumpkin, a big spoon, a knife, a serving bowl and some delicious candy.michaels home decor fabric First, make sure the bowl will fit in the pumpkin. discount outdoor christmas yard decorationsThen, cut the pumpkin in half and scrap out all the excess pumpkin. Place your serving bowl in the pumpkin. As you can see above, you could add an attractive cloth or handkerchief around the bowl for an extra design. Add some candy and you have a fancy new centerpiece or serving bowl for your trick-or-treaters.
Time to add a bit of spook into our decorating fun. Using some white gauzy fabric, you can turn all your dining chairs into phantom covers that anyone and everyone will enjoy resting on. This project is pretty straightforward, but if you were looking for a shortcut, you could always just grab some extra toilet paper and toilet paper the whole room—cheap and fun! No Halloween décor story can end without a section on Halloween wreaths. What once was reserved for Christmas decorations is now a staple in homes across the country. This Halloween, step out of your comfort zone and create a wreath people will be talking about all fall. Our first wreath looks like mini pumpkins, but in fact, those are putka pods. Beware, this one will not be fast. The second creative wreath was made completely of ping-pong balls and glue. Once again, this will not be a fast project, but one that will surely impress your guests. What's On10 Halloween ideas for decorating your houseHow will you be decorating your house this Halloween?
