Take a sneak peek into all the wonder and excitement that awaits you during a Lone Star Christmas! Part of the hotel’s annual Christmas at the Anatole celebration, Sparkle continues through Jan. 4 in the hotel’s sculpture park. The celebration features an outdoor skating rink, 1 million lights and live nightly musical performances. On select dates, there’ll also be various activities such as visits from animals of the Dallas Zoo and Date Night-Skate Night with a DJ. A portion of the proceeds from Sparkle will benefit the Mike Modano Foundation. Through Jan. 4 at the Hilton Anatole. The display at Vitruvian Park lets visitors stroll through the park and see millions of lights on the trees. There’ll be special music performances Dec. 14 and 21. The display continues nightly through Jan. 1 from 6 to 10. Prairie Lights at Lynn Creek Park More than 4 million lights twinkle in this drive-through holiday attraction, presented by Gexa Energy. You can also hop out at the Holiday Village, check out a walk-through area and see a light show.

Expect a Snow Village with a tubing hill, snow castles, a snowball gallery, a play area and visits with Santa. Continues through Jan. 5 (hours vary) at 3545 Lone Star Circle, Fort Worth. Lights-only admission is $15-$20 per car; admission to only the evening Snow Village is $12 per person. The mall is home to what’s billed as America’s tallest indoor Christmas tree, sparkling with nearly a quarter of a million lights and more than 10,000 ornaments. The tree’s daily Illumination Celebration light shows are set to music. On select dates, skating Santa Missile Toes will shoot sparks from his skates and do some back-flips in free ice shows in the mall’s Center Court.

Christmas in the Frisco Square More than 175,000 lights blink in a free show set to holiday music in this Frisco celebration. You can hear the tunes on your car’s radio, a big plus if it’s chilly. There’ll also be an outdoor ice rink throughout the run of the light display, as well as carriage rides on select nights. A special event on Dec. 21 will feature a parachuting Santa, a three-lane snow slide, visits with St. Nick and more. Nightly through Jan. 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Frisco Square The light show is free. The Gaylord Texan Resort’s 4.5 acres of indoor gardens under glass have been transformed into a winter wonderland featuring 1.5 million lights, 350 lighted trees including a 54-foot Christmas tree, 12,000 ornaments, 5,600 feet of garland, a 7-foot-tall gingerbread house, zippy miniature train sets, 25-foot toy soldiers and more. Expect them to be glittering for the holidays with classic light decorations. Check out the area south of Preston and Mockingbird for more light displays. This Plano neighborhood display is traditionally one of Collin County’s biggest. The neighborhood covers a large area north of Legacy Drive between Preston and Coit roads. Visitors should obey the signs in the neighborhood. There’s a map on the homeowners’ association website. Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 17, the Arlington Police Department will setup traffic control posts from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. to help facilitate safe travel for tourists and neighbors.Every year, more than 200 homeowners in this northwest Arlington community near Interstate 30 celebrate the season by adorning their homes and property with festive lights and holiday-themed displays. Enter the Interlochen neighborhood from Westwood Drive at Randol Mill Road. From Westbound I-30, take the Fielder Road exit and go south to Randol Mill Road. Turn right on Randol Mill Road and follow it to Westwood Drive. From Eastbound I-30, take the Eastchase Parkway exit, turn east on Meadowbrook Boulevard to Randol Mill Road, then right on Randol Mill Road to Westwood Drive. All other streets to the Interlochen neighborhood are closed. Left turns are prohibited from northbound Bowen at Westwood and northbound Oakwood at Randol Mill. All traffic will be forced to turn southbound on Crowley Road.
